cheap feeders

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This guy is keeping several big catfish, 2 pacu, few oscars and more fish all in a 30 gallon. I can see why people act this way towards Tjend. The way he fishkeeps is along the lines of animal abuse.

I see.

I knew nothing about the OP before posting here, so my responses in this thread were unbias.

I hate the bickering and arguing in this forum. I got wrapped up in that tonight. I'm done with this thread.

Heres 2 shots of Tjends 30 gallon, hes also got native fish with tropicals. In another thread, when told his tank is overstocked he thought it was funny and refuses to fix the problem.

Yeah I agree. I used to get too involved and sometimes I still do. I need to really back away form peoples problems. Every now and then someone throws something out at me too. But its ok, Im able to take it.

I guess asking about feeder goldfish here is akin to walking into a hospital and asking, "Why do I get sick after I lick the rails in the subway?" They are both specific fields that are dedicated to preventing harmful things from happening. Frankly, I didn't see anything wrong in this thread. It was a great response. First, the slap of awareness. Then, the gentle glow of knowledge to soothe. Then a little friendly aftermath to put a good gloss on the whole scene. It was a pretty standard and effective response sequence.

If the OP doesn't learn, that's his business. We did our thing pretty well.

Yeah, it's easy to get involved in these arguments. I come here to enjoy fish keeping, and all too often, MFK is spoiled by things like this. It doesn't bother me too much because it is easy to ignore. Ok, I guess I'm done with the derail. Now I am really done with this thread...lol.

and the 30 gallon is a little better 2 pacu 3 catfish and an oscar 3 perch and no the others didnt die moved to outdoor pond

I guess everyone enjoys this hobby in their own way. Some like large fish some like small some like cichlids others plecos. Seems like a question was asked and a response from experiance was given. Any experianced aquarist knows there are better alternatives to feeders but some like to use them and that is fine. My experiance is every time I used any kind of feeders I ended up having promblems. But I know many who use them and have no promblems. Just not worth the promblems to me as I have a lot of money tied up in my fish, like $405 tied up in an 8 inch L-114 cactus pleco. No way this boy is getting feeders. Good Luck.
