Cheap Food

Dry dog food. Look on the back of the packages and find one with the right ingredient percentages or closest to right and use that one, like protein%,fat% etc%. You can use puppy for small peices. Pond keepers have been doing it for decades and they are open about for the most part, But monster keepers have been doing it just as long and won't speak a word about it.
 
I feed with Purina Gamefish Chow. It was $17 for a 50 pound bag. I supplement with Centrum Liquid vitamins by filling a glass jar 3/4 with pellets and then pouring in about a tablespoon of vitamins. Then just shake for several minutes to evenly mix them.
 
I don't trust the protein sources on things like dog food...I'd much rather just get some bulk packages of the preferred fish food
 
It's pretty cheap to buy earthworms in bulk, once you buy enough of them they will keep breeding an you'll have an almost endless supply of them.

I use the purina aquamax stuff, good stuff if you've got big fish with big appetites.
