M.Carfi - hats off to you, and thanks for the insight. only thing i can tell is that they are not GATF... haha

you mean "sp" just means same species of fish came from a region outside of where the bulk of similar fish come from with slight differences? I thought that's what "var" was for...

here's what ive inferred from your response to the photos off aqua-bonito:

VATF - clear eyes
TATF - red tint in eyes
Both VATF/TATF: slightly more angular at the neckline. Tail has that yellow red orange (2nd photo fish prob just unsettled, red to come in where black is at base of tailfin). Come in both elongated and short stock specs.

BATF - a more angled upper jaw and underbite in your fish and the 8th from aqua-bonita. neither have red/orange fin coloration but possible yellow hue. Adiopse is all black as opposed to clear base and black spot on TATF/FATF.

teeth, cant see well enough to comment on.

There is one other way that is sure fire to ID'ing these fish that I haven't quite mastered yet because it consists of them being examined DEAD.
Counting the lateral lines vs. number of scales in a lateral line, I don't have the figures for these but I will try to dig them up.

Can't see the teeth on mine cause he just lost them all!! haha!
Ready to grow a new set, happens about once every two months and they always grow back bigger and fall out all at the same time, Always seems to get like a pink film overlapping the teeth from the gums when they are going to bail.

I saw your tank, VERY SICK!!! can't wait to see that 4500!!

I see that you have alot of exp. with tats. Did I read on here somewhere that they are prone to ich? I think mine may be having a bout with some, a very small amount of white dots, very scattered and not concentrated, and very little. My feeders are always quarantined, I don't lose any feeders for any reason, they all seem healthy, none of my other fish seem to have these symptoms, any insight? Fastest way to treat one fish.

Predatortank215 has or had a nice Brevis, looked to be close to a foot in length but I have'nt seen him around here lately.

hey sorry late reply... yes i've had a lot of exp. with tats dying ;)

yea they are literally thin skinned, easily damaged/penetrated which leads to stress. I would not move the fish. That may end up in the fish damaging itself. This is how all 8 of my 11 died. Got scared, crashed into something, fatal injury. However there have been some that recovered. Minor spots or cloudy eyes, but still swimming in formation, there's a good chance a dose of salt will do. I've had a few clear up in a 1-3days. If both eyes are fogged up, lethargic, imbalanced, visible damage to skin/fins ... this is not a good sign.

So there are 4 types of ATF right?

Goliath from Congo
Yellow Tail Vittatus From Congo
RedTail Vittatus From Nigeria
Forskoli From Nigeria
Brevis ?
Tanz?

Anyone know where the Brevis and Tanz are from?
