My avatar just might be one on your pairs offspring. I got him from Dan last year, he`s now eight inches. That pair is amazing. How did you get Dan to part with them?

I wish you good luck with them. Once upon a time I drove from Detroit to Canton, OH to get a huge pair of grammodes from a different Dan. Things ended badly for me and I have never bought monsters since. Medium sizes, no problem but never large fish like that.

they were in a massive box with them being bagged individually and they were shipped out about 3pm wednesday in tampa fl and i picked em up about 8p wednesday night in Atlanta. It was actually chaos, I had never done airport to airport before and it was thunder storming and their system was down. I got there at the scheduled arrival time at 6p but because of the storm i had no idea how long it was going to be before they landed and i pretty much sat there and waited anxiously for 2 hours. Then the bags were leaking so they had to make the 1.5 hr drive from Atlanta to my house in the back of the truck in a storm!!! I was completely freaking out lol.

They are only in a 75 for the time being but im making arrangements for a 125.

I actually had just put a WTB post in the classifieds for a rtm or la ceiba pair and happened to stumble across them on Dan's website like the next day.

Paracromis "la ceiba". Like the animal guy said their named after the place where they were discovered because I don't believe they've been officially classified. Search it and there's tons of info about it on here.

Well, I did the first water change tonight and things seem to be going pretty well. They actually started doing a little head shaking earlier so hopefully they're starting to come around.

Any tips to help these guys get acclimated? I assume the bag buddies stuff they put in the shipping container has a slight sedative, does anyone know if that's the case? And if so how long does it take for it to fully wear off?

Not sure about the sedative, but it might be a good idea to have a divider ready, new environment, moving, etc could disrupt their bond....the divider will fit the 125 if same tank dimensions as the 75

Ok I'll keep an eye on em. They've been a bonded pair for at least four years and the male seems pretty calm so I'm hoping for the best.

I put a strawberry pot in the tank yesterday and the female has already taken up in there. They also were head shaking and acting funny so who knows I might be already seeing some pre spawn action!

They only problem is so far is they're not really wanting to eat yet. I ordered an assortment of large fish food yesterday and am gonna try some different options.
