Your best bet is to feed them whatever Dan had them on.

I've had large cichlids go without food for several weeks after a move or being shipped.
Not a bad idea to try what Dan was feeding but they usually come around after they get settled.

I tried the tetra cichlid sticks he said he fed em (even though tetra food is pretty terrible) and they still didn't seem too hungry. Hopefully it's just the move and it'll get better.

Those are monsters! I actually entertained that male but was tight on space! Great pickup! Get them to spawn.... Which shouldn't be difficult and spread the La Ceibas!

Well great news... both of them pigged out today. They only seem to really like the Tetra cichlid sticks which kinds socks but at least t hey re eating. I'm going to try to slowly get em on something healthier once they get better acclimated.

The female is still residing in the strawberry pot for the most part so I'm hoping for eggs shortly.
I'll post some pics tonight.

Great news! Once they are really settled try mixing the sticks with your good of choice. They'll come around with a little patience.

Just some confusion on my end that I hope yall can clear up. I see several folks on this thread calling these fish La Ciebas. My understanding that La Cieba was a collection point of Loiselle or Freddies - not sure which - and was just a more yellow version of that fish. These fish look to me to be RTMs & not what I usually see referred to as La Ciebas. Looking for some clarification as I have juvies from this pair & would like to know exactly what I have.
