Check this out, Smugglers Caught

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thats just the max sentence, I doubt he'll do less than 3 months in jail but will get fined heavily.

If convicted, he could face a 44-year sentence. "

44 years? wtf? I know someone from high school that went to jail for 10 years stabbing a fellow student 7 times and obviously the kid that got stabbed died...

But whats with the extreme jail time for smuggling fish? that is retarded...

And for the guy that posted his secret plans asking for help in online forums he probably deserves to be busted for being so naive.

haha this is my home town. Garden Grove 714 baby. I know many local business' that have asian aro's. too bad this guy got caught.

crazy viets.
another nguyen,
bomber

I'm curiouse as to what was done to the fish afterwards.. from what I'm aware.. they destroy this "endangered fish" That is potentially as invasive as a snakehead?... O.o ... I'm no Arrowana expert.. but even I'm not stupid enough to believe that crap. ignorant fruitcakes..

Asian Arowanas would not be endangered anymore if they were legalize in the U.S. All the hobbyist would breed the heck out of them. More fish, lower prices. Makes sense to me.

If you are reading this Mr. Government Doucher Extraordinaire Guy, GO ARREST THE PEOPLE THAT ARE ILLEGALLY IN THE COUNTRY. Once you've taken care of those few million, then come back to fish...

Just what would a Fish & Wildlife agent have to do with illegal immigration? F&W agents doing this kind of smuggling interdiction is exactly what they're hired and trained to do. What's next, berate a cop for writing a firelane parking violation instead of busting bank robbers?

It's no secret that MFK has agents as registered members. We've never kept that secret. In fact, we've made a point of reminding members of that fact. And, of the fact that, if asked officially, the site WILL provide information concerning members for use in investigations.

Yea Yea Yea, I know it's a different agency and so on.

However I still stand firmly by my point. We don't need Fish & Wildlife Agents wasting tax dollars for this stuff. This country has far larger problems and this is how money is spent. It sickens me.

Non violent crimes getting harsher fines/punishment than rapists and murderers... It's sad.

It's not like we haven't seen the media blow things out of porportion before. The DA probably isn't looking at anything close to the sentence the media is stating. And, as far as crime priorities, ...the department I used to work for had people finishing large 'projects' that utilized a large number of staff. When reassignments are made, not all of the staff may be needed on the next big 'project' so, some members are assigned to lesser 'projects' and any 'outstanding-status' cleanup assignments. And, considering the number of bureaus, offices, and agents, it's easy to realize that not every agent will get to work on the big headline items. Sometimes, personnel files get padded up by investigating and solving alot of minor cases.

True, they are listing the maximum sentence and fines as the media does oh so well.

Agent seniority plays a huge part in determining the cases that get solved (since we never see the cases that are pending or being worked on. -this isn't TV after all). A slew of rookie agents looking to build reputations will cut their teeth on cases such as this. Who knows how many cases are investigated to dead ends before we see something like this in the media?
The gist of the reality is that they are watching, They're watching us. And, the fact that nothing's been done doesn't preclude the fact that information left on sites such as this are being collected and compiled for observation, statistical analysis, case building, etc. The spark to act on any information left on the internet can be as minor as the need for a rookie agent to build his/her reputation for future advancement opportunities within their individual bureau.
