no luck yet with mine. introduced the male to the female. had to get him out. lets say it didnt go well. she got beat up pretty bad. like ike beat tina. lol
Wow! A breeding pair would be sweet. And I could make a good dollar being that no one here even knows about them. The LFS had one once and got sold for $50 in about an hour. Plus the Dovii was only about 2 inches! Bad news, the place I am getting them from only can send me two. The guy there says they are both male, so when I get them (today) I will post pics.
I agree 100% but here in El Paso people only see the norm which here is Oscars, JD, and on the rare occasion Red Devil and Jag-yeah it's that bad. You go to any store in El Paso and mention Dovii, Black Belt, or even Midas cichlid and they have no idea what your talking about. It is sad that a city as large as El Paso doesn't have LFS that focus on rare and aggressive fish.
That's how it is around here.. nobody knows of Dovii.. sure fishfarm has them for $10 each but they are an online vendor to a fish forum.. "most" LFS will not know what a Dovii is.
Shamrock, how big are they? Maybe you'll get lucky and one will be a female as they can be difficult to sex at a young age.
