yeah i know i read somewhere that someone was feeding at 08:00 12:00 16:00 and 20:00 so thats what im following for a while i will keep pics to document it. i can move her away from the bass into a 48 x 18 x 18 she is around 8 - 10 " what do you think ?

my cichla range in size from 8" upto 15" i have saw the 12" cichla biting her i dont think its the larger ones or the smaller ones just the middle sized mono's

is this the only ray in the tank?

my female rays will get wounds like this when they are trying to stab the males. the females own stinger will catch the side of her own disk

Doing a water change since it makes it easier for me to catch the flagtail. ammonia, nitrites are at 0ppm and nitrates are at 40ppm. Can't believe my petsmart didn't have any liquid nitrate or nitrite test kits...i had to buy the test strips so I'm not even sure how accurate those are. He's still eating normally he just go straight to hiding in the plants once he's done....

I really hope the flagtail is the culprit and this doesn't get worst. Thanks for the advice so far! i really appreciate it!

In my experience dip strips can only tell you the difference between...yes there is something there or no it is fine....40ppm on a dip strip could be 100ppm of nitrate on a proper test kit...if in doubt change a ton of water but test the tap water too.

You can feed that many times a day and the only ones that will get fatter are every one EXCEPT the ray.......the bass and dat are just too fast. You need to get your ray segragated to get it fat and healthy. I had a bass(and a few other fish), with my ray and the food would be gone before the ray had a chance.....so I got rid of all EXCEPT the ray!
