Cichla Kelberi 'Sao Paulo' where are they all?

Are they supposed to be better than Rapp's fish?

Or better than the ones Scat has?

Look like norm kels to me.. jmo Still very nice fish...

Nah they arn't supose to be better then any of those they are just going to get bigger then any other kelberi and they get extreamly yellow insted of gold. Scat got the best of the kelberi's lol. The one I got still has a lot of maturing to do so he is going to get very very yellow

Yeah see the Sao Paulos were like 2-3 inches and were only $35 each. There was a 2 per person limit on them also. So since he doesnt eat smelts anymore what you giving him?

I think it started when I traded away my azul as they both used to race to the surface when the smelt was tossed in.There is no competition for him now because the smaller kel was in a different tank.The two of them are together now in their own temporary tank and they are the only fish that I have that eat live food so it is treated and gut loaded feeders for them for now.

Yeah they were very cheap because they were called cichla sp yellow

Hi guys! I didnt read the whole post but these pics are all kelberis! Here in Brazil we call them " tucunaré amarelo" Tucunaré = peacockbass , yellow = amarelo. The Cichla sp are the azul . The "sp" is not an abreviature of São Paulo. There are not native peacock bass in São Paulo . They were all introduced here from another places of Brazil. The kelberis that lives on lakes, and rivers in São Paulo dont grow like in the north region of Brazil cuz weather here is colder than in the north ..

they are actually going to be much smaller and scats are Sao Frans not Sao Paulo. i also dont believe George said 2 per person as i know a couple people who got 10 easy.

I know that scats were Sao Fran. Im just saying that his Kelberi are like 5 years old and only 10" and this Kelberi I have is 12" and only 8 months old.and there were only 25 brought in thats why they were 2 per person limit. I know this because thats what the previous owner told me because he went down there and wanted to buy them all and they said its only a 2 per person limit so idk why you are trying to prove me wrong? and your saying that a couple of people bought 10 each who are they then?

his are much larger than 10in and i guarantee you they are bigger than yours girth-wise and length. the batch George brought in for 35$ a pop i know for a fact that 2 people i can list off of the top of my head that got more than 2 is brian and james.

How many types of amarelo´s youv got over there on the other side of the pond ?
be it from a hatcheri in Brazil or in USA , called C. kelberi/ C. spec. kelberi/ spec. yellow.
