Cichlid teeth?

ok im about to start a 75 gallon cichlid tank up and i was wandering which cichlid types actually have visible teeth, not the ones in their throat or what not but actualy teeth. so far ive seen the jack dempseys, the jaguars, and the wolfs do but are there any more im missing. Im asking because i would prefer more agressive looking and acting fish in my tank. THNX!

I just lost a breeding pair of Nicaraguensis.

The male was 11" and had the meanest full set of teeth i have ever seen on a cichlid.

Flowerhorns have some pretty mean visible teeth as well

Red Devils and Midas have teeth that show as well.

If you’re looking for impressive dentition most of the Parachromus should fill the bill. For a 75 I would stay with a Mota, Freddi or Loisellei all 3 have a nice set of teeth on them.

trimacs, grammodes and most parachromis. i think they are called pseudo canines. even more placid species such as uaru A and gold severums have teeth similar to the midas above.

salvinis have very noticable top teeth. i can see my 3'' salvinis teeth from across the room when his mouth is open

thanks for the help guys, that gives quite a variety to choose from, but am going to be able to have more than one species, i mean will they get along together?

I think I know what you're looking for, somthing with an impressive set of choppers that's big enough to be noticeable. Correct me if I'm wrong but if I'm correct I would have to say no, almost everything mentioned would be pretty much one fish in a 75 depending on the species you choose, at best a pair but your not going to have a multi-species tank unless you get one at least twice the size other wise it could become very ugly in there and even in a 150 it's not a sure thing again depending on what to choose and the personalities of the individuals. You might hear stories of people packing 20 fish into one but that's another thread. I like to give fish as much space as I can.

yeah +1, 75g may look huge right now but with a foot long or bigger fish in it, it wont look that big for long, that being said you may be able to keep a salvini and a grammode in there with some dithers but youd probably have to try several different fish before you found 2 that like each other, and you would have to have very strategic decorations to have plenty of sight breaks, but if you wanting something thats a mean looking glassbanger then i would reccomend a midas or trimac as a solo wet pet
