Cichlid teeth?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My baby blood parrot has some teeth just like the guy in that photo! I thought it was strange.. our adult parrot has no teeth at all. The baby must be a different hybrid mix.

I'll second salvinis. I have multiple cichlids and it's the only one with visible teeth.

With a 75 you can fit two or three decent size cichlids in there, but aggression problems can always be an issue regardless of what fish you decide to keep together.

thnx for the help guys! kinda wishing i would bought a bigger tank now. i wish i could just get some piranhas and call it a day, but unfortunatly, i cant have them in nc. i would go with brackish or full marine setup as i know there are some very hostile dudes in that category but this is my first tank and i kinda figured id better start with a freshwater tank, so i guessed cichlids were my best bet.

plenty of mbuna have teeth and you can keep about 15 to 20 in a 75 with a well rocked tank (ps i know this is the sa/ca forum)

are they smaller than the american ones or something? and are they as aggresive? thats really what im after mainly, freshwater fish that will destroy feeders lol, may sound mean or w/e but its what i want :)

they are from lake malawi in africa yes all they do is hide shovel rocks and fight mbuna means rock dwelling i think dont quote me on that one but theres a lot to choose from most having teeth

Doesn't sound mean, just uneducated. ;)

wow no need to be a dick, didnt see me making puns on buying a zx14 to make up for the lack of packing if your pants...lets keep it civil if you dont mind. if you dont have anything nice to say say nothing at all, what i want is my preference and has nothing to do with being "educated" on fish, im on here asking questions to learn and make the best environment possible for my fish and get some enjoyment myself...what else?

oh yeah read the first part of your signature cool guy...nice. can you say hypocrit?

Actually I traded the ZX14 in on an MV Agusta F4 1000R so I guess I am really compensating now.
