Several members like the really big aggressive fish but I still believe they are in the minority so you really should post your tank pics. I for one would love to see your stock and tank pics. Been there and done that with the big tank busters. After a while it gets really old trying to find a suitable tankmate for a lone aggressive Jag, umbie or whatnot. Its in my opinion that a lot of these fish aren't meant to be housed in home aquariums.

O i do like the big aggressive fish but i would like more than one or even a pair in my tank......... I have got some grand plans for when i move house as i managed to talk the misses into having a fish room! I am hoping for a cellar that i can make into something special! I am waiting for my final additions to my tank before i post bit i might be waiting a while as its been 3 months already!

+1 they are very stupid fish! all the do is eat and swim! I think if the could breed maybe more people would like them.

Because they are so high maintenance. I used to give mine weekly water changes, sometimes more, all kinds of special foods and they'd still get thin and needy. Sometimes they even got hole in the head despite all the special care they got. I wish I never nursed them back from dropsy. I can hardly stand looking at them now and wouldn't take one of them for free. I don't understand how anyone can stand these fish. I call it "spoiled brat syndrome" now.

hate is a strong word, these are some i wouldnt have

chocolate, bp unless it was kkp, oscars. no offence mayans are kool but seriously? better than festae? cmon! even the best mayan cant hold a candle to the bars, spangling, tail spot, and of course the female festae.... no cichlid looks better than her. of course thats just any cichlid keeper with a brains opinion.

Well that's also a personal opinion. The female festae is obviously vibrant and colorful but some of us are more into patterns. I have always been into fish that are reticulated, leopard or jag spotted, tiger striped etc. I will always take a male cuban or jag, dat, livingstonii, marbled pim etc over a festae. I am not sure if this is doorectly unflooensed by me brainlessnessess though.

Wouldn't say hate but several that I would never buy. Parrots,FH,cichla,anything dyed.

I think in order to hate something u should have experience with it. So if you've never owned a fish and can say u hate it but don't have a valid reason why then ur post means nothing really. I always hated the veja species but when I got a black belt and a redhead it became one of my favorite fish species

I don't see why I can't hate deformed hybrid parrots on the basis of their bent spines and mouth. I don't see how me buying/adopting such a fish would change my mind in this case.
