is tit just me or are these THE coolest catfish around, dont get to large, have quite small mouth compared to body size, and can be kept with cichlids :D

ive kept mine for 8 months now and hes already 9 inches i had him from 1/2 an inch :D :headbang2
 
Ok you are a tit for thinking they can live with cichlids, but they are cool, i had a clarius in with my oscar and it killed it. They can kill pray bigger than it self as they have evolved to know where to hit a fish to kill it almost instantaly. But some can be kept with other fish, but are very trouble some. so if you want get one but bewere of the risks. good luck.

Clarias cat should be kept alone.... they are very aggresive. Mine killed 2 sucker catfishes that were twice the size of him by tearing their guts out. Very interesting fish though.
 
at nine inches probably will be ok but belive me when it gets big and clarias get huge it will kill its tank mates. they look like fat sausages with fins and have psycopathic tendancies. if the breed they will kill all the fish in the tank.

They are great fish if you keep them on there own or with there own kind, but are still ugly in my opinon.
 
my clarias live with malawi cichlids, AND THEY GET ALONG FINE! ive had no casulaties and they leave each other alone. ive got another one living with a fully grown male synspilum, again no probs

Clarius cats are like the devils kittens. Anyone keeping them with cichlids is foolish. Clarius get 2ft and are hideous. I know one person who saw a clarius peel the skin off a perruno cat like an orange. Gothyc - there is no Malawi that a clarius cannot take. Fancy a trip down to kent? Come visit, I have 2 big clarius that you can HAVE if you want. Also got a 2ft channa marulia who beat up our Jardini today!
