you have any links I could read up on to get a basic idea on this/what insects to use/setup/etc? Not sure how complicated it is or isn't.
I always thought of doing similar if I ever killed a deer.

My bro has done a deer head like this and i don't think he used any insect's.

I am sure theres more than one way to well not literally skin the cat even without insects....as I have also heard a bucket with a rock on top does the trick too as ants get in but nothing else. Just curious on the method the used here, kind of why and how quick compared to others.

Yeah they are taking their sweet time with this one. They can finish a whole rat or a slender snake in a week but this is taking forever. I think it has to do with both the cooler temperatures and the consistency of the hogs meat. I guess I should have tried to remove more of the meat before I put it in there. Oh well.

But Chloe, what would your Mum say about you doing something like this, but with your snake x?

I just thought your mum would disapprove of you doing something with snake x, like what they are doing with the pig skull. Being repulsed by it and all. But if your mum is okay with you doing it, and if snake x is still around then by all means, start a thread and let us see how it turns out. I've seen full snake skeletons before and they are a pretty awesome site after the bones have been preserved and mounted (curled up and ready to strike). It's really a site to behold especially if it's somewhere in your house and a chum comes over and sees it for the first time. Their facial expressions are priceless.

I've done similar things like this to pike, walleye and musky fish heads, and they turned out quite sadistic and demented looking, but they also looked pretty cool too.

Good talking with ya. See ya around the site.
David

those beetles do nice work... will have to remember you have those when I find my next dead critters! I tend to come across them a lot.... wish I had known you when i found the dead fox! I used ants for that one but they are sloppy... and take forever......
