Yes, there are things that are outside of our control that do affect the environment, but does that give us any right to make things worse? The goal is to lessen our impact on the world. Also, keep in mind that a lot of the rationale behind driving hybrid cars and conserving energy has to do with the depleting natural resources, not the emissions.
