And........ a gazillion gallons of other fuels used for alternate transportation for those same people to get where they wanted to go!

Who are you referring to when you say "they"? People who believe in global climate change? Al Gore and his bunch have been lobbying against offshore drilling for the last couple of years. GreenPeace has been exposing the dirty side of offshore drilling for the last couple of years. The only ones who support deep sea offshore drilling are those who plan to profit from it.

Not quite! What about the millions, if not billions of people who want, need, and use oil on a daily basis! Most "greenies" are a bunch of hypocrits!

I'm at a loss as to where the volcanic eruptions have anything to do with the carbon footprint of humanity. Just because a volcano erupts and dispenses large amounts of volcanic ash, gasses and debris, does not discount what people are trying to accomplish. Yes, there are things that are outside of our control that do affect the environment, but does that give us any right to make things worse? The goal is to lessen our impact on the world. Also, keep in mind that a lot of the rationale behind driving hybrid cars and conserving energy has to do with the depleting natural resources, not the emissions.

Yes, it does discount what people are trying to do! Why? Because what people are doing is pointless! Why spend untold billions to regulate and kill an economy when it is pointless? People on this planet also exhale on a daily basis 7,260,000 tons (yes tons!) of carbon dioxide a day. How are they going to cap and trade that? Outlaw breathing? Can man control volcanoes? What about decaying matter? Methane? There is no way man can make a significant dent if he tries! There is also absolutely no proof that it will help either!!!

And "making things worse" is all based on a matter of opinion. MAN MADE global warming is just a theory, not fact! MAN MADE global warming along with cap and trade is just hype just like the "theory" of "global cooling" in the last century. Man has not been around long enough to see the big picture accurately. Is air pollution good? No! Is smog good? No! Soot! No!

But that is not what this is all about! It is about control, and money, pure and simple! Smaller, less productive countries want to stifle and regulate the more productive and money making countries, and in the process, as government and bureaucracies get larger, some will make obscene profits off of the fallacy that man is causing global warming!They think this will even the playing field, much like a lot of poor people think that taxing the rich will solve all of their problems.

which warmed the the skys above those areas with no plans by up to 3 degrees. warming is warming. i believe that Al gore and the other eco hippies would use 3 degrees to boost thier agenda and push for more "green" laws. yet most people prob didnt even hear about this.

i posted a link one time disperssing the myth of our super high co2 levels before. they have been MUCH higher, off the top of my head i believe it was like 5 times higher in the past. But they are blaming that on global warming.

anybody know how much co2 that volcano has spewed.
