Climate cooling strikes again

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, if I believed... then "global warming" is causing me to lose sleep because of the not so common snowfall last night my wife got stuck in traffic(a wreak) and decided to call me which woke our daughter up.

it is not getting colder. It is geting abnormal, with freak events.

Some of those relate to cold spells, but the planet is inexhorably heating.

If globle warm is real them why is it getting colder?

Its not. What happens where you live is irrelevant and minuscule compared to the GLOBAL trends.

I'm still interested in LP's hypothesis as to what natural phenomenon is causing the earth's climate to change. Records far back by hundreds of thousands of years show that the planet always warmed first, then about 800 years later CO2 started increasing. This is because there has always been some external trigger, such as the sun's output increasing, or the earth's orbit's eccentricity changing, the orientation of our axial tilt, position of the continents, etc, that started a positive feedback loop.

However, solar irradiance has been decreasing, and our orbital eccentricity, and orientation of our tilt or the position of our land masses have definitely not changed significantly. We know CO2 is a greenhouse gas, and methane, and we know we're releasing copious amounts of these chemicals into the atmosphere. In the case of CO2, it comes from carbon that has been sequestered, out of the carbon cycle.

So how exactly is this part of the natural cycle? What triggered it?

This thread is like beating a horse. Ill say again, there is no evidence supporting man made global warming despite what you think. (edited to avoid confrontation or infractions)

Im sure Al Gore would luv to meet yall.

MAN BEAR PIG!! Im super cereal!!

This is simply and absolutely not true. There is tonnes of well researched evidence.
I don't understand how anyone can make such a sweeping and dismissive statement.
If you haven't seen it or read it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Just do a simple google search for scholarly articles , you will get 31,700 hits,
If you do a similar search for 'Thesis papers' you get 3.36 million hits.... 99.9% supporting the theory. (btw theory is not the same as hypothesis)
(similar edit for similar reasons)
:)

Here's some real science from the University of Chicago:

"Scientists Agree Human-Induced Global Warming Is Real, Survey Says"

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2009/01/090119210532.htm

"A group of 3,146 earth scientists surveyed around the world overwhelmingly agree that in the past 200-plus years, mean global temperatures have been rising, and that human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures....

In trying to overcome criticism of earlier attempts to gauge the view of earth scientists on global warming and the human impact factor, Doran and Kendall Zimmerman sought the opinion of the most complete list of earth scientists they could find, contacting more than 10,200 experts around the world listed in the 2007 edition of the American Geological Institute's Directory of Geoscience Departments....

Doran and Kendall Zimmerman conclude that "the debate on the authenticity of global warming and the role played by human activity is largely nonexistent among those who understand the nuances and scientific basis of long-term climate processes." The challenge now, they write, is how to effectively communicate this to policy makers and to a public that continues to mistakenly perceive debate among scientists."

This isn't about politics...it's about science...

You are not worth my time as you would rather listen to BS than real science. I will say again, there is zero evidence that supports MAN MADE global warming. There is evidence that supports global change but no evidence that supports the idea that it is man made. ... Has nothing to do with man.

Here's the key to this debate
"among those who understand the nuances and scientific basis of long-term climate processes."
