There's a guy on Long Island craigs list selling live rock and the contents of his 90 gallon for$100.00. You should really check it out.
.........Quick question, I live near the beach and someone suggested that I get some sea water and get sand from the shore( I guess the wet sand by the water) to help seed my tank. Is this true or do they not know what there talking about??Pufferpunk;1112789; said:Right...
It is probably dust from the sand. Ass a chumk of filter floss (pillow stuffing at a sewing store or Home Depot is cheap) to your filter & change ouot when it's clogged. that couild clear it up. Add your live rock now too.
As far as those lights, unless you are planning on adding corals, you're spending too much $$$ on lighting. You can get PC lighting for $150 or less (shipped), on Ebay. Unless you're getting the 4 bulb set. Then, it's not a bad price.
They guy has 15 pounds of live rock left, he say a few snails and crabs and a few sea serpents. He said give him an offer. How much should I offer him for what he has left??craig;1117767; said:There's a guy on Long Island craigs list selling live rock and the contents of his 90 gallon for$100.00. He wants 40 which is no problem for me but hE asked me if I have the proper lighting for the the live rock, He says it has polyps and mushrooms on it. I have a standard flourescent strip light. a double bulb and a single bulbPufferpunk;1122296; said:Offer him $20-25 & ask him to throw in the sand. Tell him you're a newbie.
