clown loach feeding help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just got 6" loaches from infinite aquatics and I couldnt get them to eat at first so I went and purchased live black worms and now they eat everything I put in the tank like mad men.

Condition them on live worms for a week and they will take off. They feed on worms in the wild. Hope this helps.

I have to monitor my loach's intake or it might explode from greed. But, it didn't eat well at first. Shrimp pellets where the only thing for a long time. Now it eats anything you put in the tank.... a true friend of mine.

Yes, turn lights off and feed them. That might help.

:iagree: Mine are the most active early in the morning when I get up around 6:00 am....I'm surprised they are not eating bloodworms...I have a feeding tube that I use just a piece of PVC with a 90 on it that sticks above the waterline..Place the 90 in a dark secure spot where they can feed undercover , drop frozen bloodworm , brine shrimp cubes in the top as they defrost they settle to the bottom. The loaches enter the tube to eat plus the added benefit of your filters not blowing the food around...Look in the reptile section of your LFS for canned snails they love them.......Good luck
