I told myself I'd buy it if no one else did the next time I visit the pet store, and sure enough...still there. They had him mixed in with parrots since delivery, and then singled him out in a divided tank. So I decided YES! Love the colors and finnage. Picture quality suck ballz!~

And....another. This guy just popped up for sale out of nowhere. He' a bit stressed from the drive and xfer, but I'm hoping he shines soon. Does anyone know if H. Carpintis fade the black off like faders? And also can anyone see sex in this from just photo? I understand they are similar in fashion to flowerhorns, but it isn't always the case.

Yeah, I already read everything you threw up there. Sort of what confirmed my thought process behind the shortbody and bonsai. You could add kok means "horn" =D. Not sure if anyone gives a **** but yeah haha.

H. Carpintis don't fade lol. Only RT will fade like faders lol. Sexing cichlids is pretty easy, just vent em.
