College Football 2010

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
one other thing about the OP's top 8. I don't see Auburn on there anyway. Far be it from me to say anything good about the tigers, but Cam Newton is the real deal. Those boys are playing very well. They absolutely should be in the top 8.

I don't want to start an argument but Boise St and TCU play a whole bunch of nobodies. Pick an SEC team (even Vandie) and they'd go undefeated against the same competition too. creampuff conference.

Oregon's playing very well, Ohio St. is playing well. Alabama was playing well...

We can argue this ad nauseum until they institute a real playoff system.

Amen on the playoff call, everyone can see that a playoff is the only way to make this whole thing legit.

As for vandy running train in the WAC or the MWC we all know that's nonsense. The SEC benefits from a misconception that every team they have is good and thus they all get ranked. Since they play mostly garbage teams outside their conference their only losses are to other ranked SEC teams which only perpetuates this idea that they are all good. Sure LSU played WVU and NC but those teams are now unranked. Alabama played PSU, now 3-3 and unranked.

SEC teams are good, but i just think they are a bit overrated.

It's just a regional thing. There are few pro teams in the deep south. The SEC benefits accordingly.

There are 7 or 8 players on the chicago bears that came from Vande. Tremendous amount of talent in the conference.

Okay maybe it's a bit of an exageration to say vande would run the table, but I bet they'd win atleast 8 or 9 games.

Garbage teams like who? Penn state? VT last year? Texas?

Some people just dont understand SEC football. Out of the twelve years of the BCS system, the SEC has SIX national championships...all of the other BCS conferences have six COMBINED. Four out the last five National Champions have been SEC schools.

Over rated...I think not.

Look at Bama's schedule. It is BY FAR the toughest schedule of any National Championship contender. How many top teams are we having to play? How many have bye weeks before they play the Tide? Yeah, VERY tough schedule. A one loss Bama after winning the SEC championship WILL go to the title game over an undefeated Boise St or any other team from a joke conference.

We all remember what Utah did to Bama 2 years ago…. enough said.

This year is going to be very different in the BCS games. We now have 3 non-BCS teams in the top 10. Even though the Big East is an AQ-league, they are not qualified right now because no team from the Big East is ranked at least 16 or above and another AQ team will take its place. This year is going to be very different in the big bowls. Boise and TCU may or may not make it to the dance or they BOTH might make it, who knows. All I know is I want Boise, TCU and Utah to play Big name schools and lay the smack down on them. Just like Utah; wham, bam, thank you Bama.

Does that really mean SC is a better team than Bama? Or that they had a better day of football?
RTR!

Yes it does, for this week SC is a better team than Bama and should be ranked accordingly. Should they lose next week, then it's a different story.

I find that difficult to believe. SC has one loss against a team that was ranked comparably to SC but Bama beat several teams ranked higher than any other teams SC has played this year so does that mean SC is #1 and Bama is #2? I'm not saying I agree with the way the current ranking system works, but given what we have i don't necessarily think their record proves their a better team.

Given that logic, TCU and Boise St. shouldn't even be ranked at all because they haven't beat a ranked team this season.

So they beat a ranked team after one of the easiest schedules in college football two years ago and so that means they are forever and all time a better team than Bama right? Again for the cross conference games to mean anything we need a playof system. Slogging through a regular season schedule consisting largely of top 25 teams week in and week out is way different than showing up to play one game against a good opponent.

That game was ugly and the team that played better ball that day won. Alabama came out flat because they didn't show up to play the sugar bowl because they got beat by florida and lost out on NC dreams. They didn't take the utes seriously so I guess that means people can discredit the program forever right?

How many times have I heard…” we didn’t take them seriously and didn’t show up, that’s why we lost”. Watching that game… The Crimson Tide was out-coached, out-played and just destroyed. The final score should have been 31-10. That last TD was giving to them to just end the game. Enough with this “easy schedule” and can’t compete week in, week out. Did they or did they not DESTROY YOUR TEAM? Alright then… moving on.

Last year Florida and Cincinnati should have played either TCU or Boise. Cincinnati for sure would have been destroyed and the Florida game would have been very good game. Of course that could not happen.

Boise St., TCU, and Utah didn't just do this over night. It has taken them long time to get to this position in the poll this early. Give them some credit where it's do.

This year is different and the “Big Boys” will get punk’d on this year.
