Kudos to you. Perhaps entitlement is something that has to be overcome to be truly successful in this life....entitlement could be a curse instead of a blessing. Kids who have to work grow up with a work ethic.

I totally agree with you. Entitlement could definitely be a curse instead of a blessing. My brother used to drive a 2016 BMW M4 by having my parents pay for his car note and insurance (while working part time under my father's law office), he told my parents he cannot drive a Nissan Altima (for no apparent reason but that its too low quality for him, says the idiot). Now he lost his opportunity to work under my dad (numerous instances that exposed his sociopathic tendencies), got kicked out my parents house, got his car taken away, and now barely even making ends meet. I think if they would have been hard on him from the start, he would have turn out much better. Now, he just an arrogant idiot who thinks the world revolves around him. Sorry about the ranting but yeah entitled little pricks really hit a soft spot.

I agree there r a lot of entitled kids these days, but one of the worst things I see r helicopter parenting, which leads to wimpy, scared people who fear irrational things,u also see a lot of people disconnected with nature, which leads to a variety of problems.

Entitlement is a curse. Looking at the people around me (9th grade) i have some hope.

The younger kids though are often bratty and expect everything to go their way, it really gets to me. Im trying to learn as much as i can before i leave school, and unfortunately due to the quoata system black people here get into universities easier so i will have to work incredibly hard from next year onwards.

I also think discipline is really lacking these days, and people complaining about their teachers. I am really starting to work hard for my A marks, which many people dont realise you have to do (some kids parents do their tasks). I am also self studying aquaculture and some biology, and hopefully one day my work will pay off and get me into a Marine Biology course at my local aquarium next year, and eventually to university.

Only in America, this career is undermined. There are parents who think teaching can be done by anyone.. please go get a teaching credential and teach full time and then let me know. If not, just do whatever you can to help build a relationship with the teachers so we can as a team better foster your child's education. But more likely than not, it is not the case sadly.

I'm really considering going into education. i don't know if i said that already. as of right now, I plan on sending resumes to schools before i start looking for anything else.

Im on my last semester with just one class :)

Although it is Analytical Chemistry, one could say I am having quite the time this semester.

that sounds awful haha. i took of year of chemistry and before that i planned on minoring in chemistry... planned. haha.

Let me tell u a story of how hard kids work out here,5days a week kid 1 and kid 2 pushed their lawn mowers around several neighborhoods, often pushing the lawn mowers in hilly country 3 miles just to get there for approximately 10 dollars a day once they split the money, they couldn't get much more because then some guy with a shiny truck and a rider mower would get the job(most jobs that used to be kid jobs r now taken by adults, such as newspaper delivery or yard maintenance) these two kids worked15 hours a day,and still didn't get any respect because they were viewed as arrogant teenagers,so show some respect because 1 in 8 children under 12 go hungry tonight, and that rate is likely higher among teens, and that's just in the United States.
Well spoken couldn't agree more
