College life

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Because their lives are just so hard. Lmao.
I had a hard time finishing high school. My life was pretty relaxed. Too relaxed maybe haha. I just hated high school. Like I said, I'm surprised I'm graduated high school.

Teenagers lives r hard, they have a high murder and suicide rate, and have none of their constitutional rights, beating children is tragically common etc
Yeah no. If you want something you need to earn it. Teens shouldn't be given everything. They need to be taught they have to work for things. Why are we just handing out diplomas nowadays? To make sure the next generation isn't prepared at all for the real world? I'm a high school teenager who has lost friends to suicide and another kid at our school was picked up for murder last year. I've worked for the grades I've gotten, the money in the bank, and the achievements I've made in the pool and hope to swim in college. If you don't work and try to succeed then you don't deserve anything. Period.

Nothing relaxed here. Wake up at 5 go to crossfit, then go to school, lift at school, home for lunch and let the dogs out, then back to school, after two classes it's home to eat and do homework, then swim practice for 2.5 hours, eat and do homework, hopefully in bed by 12 and repeat. Weekends are easier with practice from 5-8 then work 9-5.

Agreed. A friend of mine was paying all the bills when she was in high school. She was also dealing with a drug addict parent that stole any money earned that didn't go to bills and sometimes money that was supposed to go to bills haha. She had to drop out of normal high school and attend an "alternative" high school because of her work schedule. If she hadn't gone to the alternative high school, she wouldn't have graduated. Despite what some people may think, being a kid can be tough.
This is why I think high school should kind of be a breeze. Some kids do struggle and its high school, let kids be kids. They can struggle the graduate in college lol.

I agree that hard work should be rewarded. And it typically is. But I don't think simply finishing high school should be like over coming a giant obstacle.

Let me tell u a story of how hard kids work out here,5days a week kid 1 and kid 2 pushed their lawn mowers around several neighborhoods, often pushing the lawn mowers in hilly country 3 miles just to get there for approximately 10 dollars a day once they split the money, they couldn't get much more because then some guy with a shiny truck and a rider mower would get the job(most jobs that used to be kid jobs r now taken by adults, such as newspaper delivery or yard maintenance) these two kids worked15 hours a day,and still didn't get any respect because they were viewed as arrogant teenagers,so show some respect because 1 in 8 children under 12 go hungry tonight, and that rate is likely higher among teens, and that's just in the United States.

Let's all just agree to disagree. (No matter how much sense opinions make.)
It would be awesome if no arguments broke out in here.

So I've been tutoring this dude in calculus 1. I took it about four years ago. And holy crap... There is so much that I don't remember how to do haha. Helping him out has been pretty cool because it kind of nice to relearn something that I should be really sharp at.
