I once bought "some goldfish" from Walmart. They said it would be fine to keep in a ten gallon. One turned out to be a Koi. When I finally realized my folly, it was half the length of the tank. I sold it for three times what I paid. The lesson is that Walmart associates are not fish experts, they are fish netters. And they aren't very good at that.

You didn't like them? Not back to Walmart, I hope!

No I took them to a LFS, I don't remember where I got them from but I do know it wasn't walmart.

I was just pissed because of the moray and the 55g (back when I thought a 55g was big) just seemed like a waste for 2 small fish and I tried keeping other fish with them when the moray was still alive and the puffers attacked any other fish that I put in the tank.

LOL, my 55g turned out to be too small for my 2 adult (6") GSPs. You woulda loved them.

Hey! wal-mart has good deals on HEALTHY nightcrawlers!!lol

You think that a 55 is too small for 2 GSP?

I think 1 would have been very happy in there. I recommend 30g minimum for each adult. They are messy eaters, produce quite a bioload & love to swim all over the tank. They are intelligent & curious, so they need a lot of decor to explore or they get bored.

My walmart has really healthy feeder goldfish.. I buy them for the pond but everything else there is dieing.

I wouldn't feed my fish anything from there....May look alright on the outside, but no telling what they are carrying on the inside

Actually, compared to the 2 LFS that we have in my small city the Walmart fish are the best by far, and all of my fish have come from Walmart. Including my 2 full grown Oscars.
