Thanks! Yea they really are. I never would have expected his fin trailers to grow to the length they are right now. And I definitely wasn’t expecting the tail fin trailers to start coming in this fast.
Con Solo the Convict

So Con Solo has turned into a bully recently. He’s been chasing the swordtails quite a bit and is really territorial in certain areas of the tank. Breeding tube is also out. Just guessing, but does he want to breed?
Sounds like he’s entering breeding mode - should go away in a few days, or you can consider breeding him!
That’s what I was thinking, but I wasn’t a hundred percent sure if a male by himself would show breeding behavior. These fish never fail to surprise me. Fortunately it looks like the swords are a little too quick for him. I definitely want to get him a female one day too. Maybe during summer break when college won’t interfere.
Back to showing off his red fins. Haven’t seen him show off like this in a while. Also been a little easier on the swordtails, only really getting aggressive with them for a few minutes after feeding. In the short time being in this tank he’s become seriously interactive as well, at this point he’s no less interactive than how my carpintis was. He literally bolts to the front of the tank when I walk in the room.
I'm surprised he doesn't have a mound of sand like a 'door' at his cave. My hrps pile sand up everywhere like a fortress.
Yea he hasn’t really been much of a digger in the 75. Most of it is on the right side of his tank by his rock cave though.
What he has done since I got him though is put sand on random leaves. Not sure why lol. Did it in the 29 too.
. I guess I wasn’t dropping his pellets fast enough for him, so he took it upon himself to try and take them from my fingers.
So he’s pretty much made biting my fingers during feeding a normal thing now. I seriously doubt it’s out of aggression and to be honest it doesn’t bother me. I think it’s really cool that he’s comfortable enough with me to literally eat from my fingers. You can kind of see his little red teeth in the photo. I also think he’s been going through a bit of growth spurt since being in the 75. He just seems bigger (taller and and bit longer)
