Con Solo the Convict

A few hours later and doing much better. No more serious aggression between the two of them, but still a bit of stress. Both are a bit dark and discolored at the moment, but they worked themselves up pretty good so I'm not surprised. Really the best video I'm able to get right now:

Another quick update. They seem to have settled in nicely overnight. Both are eating like champs, and coming out to greet me together as a pair. It’s kind of adorable. Leia’s handling the move surprisingly well, but it was just a quick plop from one tank to the other.

One more update: The two are doing good for the most part aside from one thing. I think Leia has been nipping Solo's fins. So FINWIN FINWIN your prediction from a few days ago was pretty much spot on. She's a bit of a menace, despite being half his size. I'll attach a video of the two. You can see the minor damage to Solo's fins, especially now that he lost that beautiful long dorsal fin trailer. I'm thinking the ragged ends to his tail fin are a result of his tail slaps on the sand and around the decor? I could be wrong though. This is all new territory for me. Should I be concerned as of right now?

I think they’re just figuring things out - I wouldn’t be worried unless it worsens.

With my hrps the dominant females either have deep color or trailers. looking at Leia she fits that profile. Wait a bit and see how it goes. Solo may even lose a scale. When I had both my rainbows Salt and Pepper the male (Salt) took a beating but held his own for 2 weeks. Alter that the two stayed together ok.

That’s actually a really interesting observation. Going to continue to monitor as I’ve been doing. Hopefully they sort things out with a bit of time.
