Consideration's when choosing short body fish.

Will try for at least some sort of vid before then, just dont expect real great detail of any fry, lol! Who knows, maybe I'll luck out and 100 of them will come pose right at the front of the tank. :D

As soon as they are on 1 mil I'll start feeding them tilapia, market shrimp, etc. I have a neat trick for that, freeze whatever you bought from the seafood case and shred it on a cheese grater. You can customize the size by using different sized holes on the grater and by how hard you press against it.

That would be cool but I think I won't get anything like that. I just want to finally get some fry from a blood parrot. Polly is pretty big so I should get a good amount of eggs from her. She has laid eggs before supposedly but both her and Sunny are first time parents to be.

I would get something like this, although my male and female are much better quality than the parents of this one.

We must compare notes, I really want to figure out the nature of the sb gene a little better. I thought it was recessive but it doesn't seem to act like a typical recessive gene at all. I see soooooo many fry in this batch that have very short tails in relation to their body.

Sweet, that link was just the stuff I wanted to know!

I think it's a dominant with both a homozygous and a heterozygous state. Not all dominant traits are like that. Pastel and super pastel ball pythons are like that too.

Omg this will make it sooooooo easy to add new blood. Green Texas are so widely available and imo captive bred GT are fairly genetically diverse.
