Controversial solution to keeping large cat fish

I actually think its pretty pointless. I wouldnt buy a $50 dollar fish, then waste alot of money feeding it, just so I can eat it. If I want fish to eat, I go to Jewel and buy a filet, or better yet, catch one and eat it. But, if you want to eat your pet, thats cool. Kinda funny, but cool. I could only imagine, having your fidn come over after like 2 years of having the fish. "hey man, what happened to your fish?" "Oh, nothing really, it just got too big, so I ate it. It tasted pretty good." LMAO. But, to each their own.
dont eat your pets dude it just aint cool if i were in the amazon river and caught 1 yeah i would cook him up and give it a try but these are showoff fish your freinds and family will stop by and want to see them and will be disappointed u need to read the thread in the lounge on this topic.lol
NO WAY IS THAT THE SAME. Cattle are bred easily, and they are a renewable source. Most species of fish are not. Look at the blue tang, after Nemo came out they have been in such high demand that now they face extinction in the wild. When they become endangered then people will say that their place is in the aquarium where we can preserve them. But we put them in that state, don't waste the fish's life. I my self could not do it but I can see the reasoning behind it I know people that keep chickens they eat the eggs every day and there are people near me that have a small holding and have pigs these are like dogs and treated like pets but they will be dinner.
I don't see anything wrong with it. If that's what you wanna do and will be able to do it when the time comes, then go for it. I think it's rediculous that people compare this to eating babies, or even dogs for that matter. Make sure to post pics when you do do it and let us know how it tastes.
They're going to have a short life though, they both have the potential of attaining 18" in well under a year.... Depending on how well they're fed... My TSN grew to over 18" in just about a year, and I did my best to slow his growth because his tank wasn't done yet.
