Controversial solution to keeping large cat fish

The only thing I see is the emotional attachment that you'll have with your fish. Like some people say...it's like eating your dog. If you don't thing you're going to be attached to it, go for it. People raise cattle, poultry, and pork and I'm sure they eat it as well.

I have a friend who has done this, I see nothing wrong with it, especially when you consider some of the alternative ways some people use to rid themselves of fish that have out grown their homes

Interesting comments for both sides of the debate.
I believe it comes down to why a person keeps fish. Personally I think of the work and time put into my fish, especially the ones that were mere fry when I got them, after tens of thousands of gallons of water changes and daily "interaction" I would not consume them. I also believe that when selecting a fish, max size and ability to house it are limiting factors.
I do not judge others, just my opinion.

I saw a documentary on the natives in africa ...and one of the natives was cooking up a parrot over the fire as another parrot sat on the guys shoulder like they were best of friends.. horrible.. if you can do that then it would not be much different then this guy ..but hey to each his own..
