Wow now i know ..lol..just got off the phone with my cousin bout these bad boys..he has a zaires and he said its hard to breed him and i believe him cuz he been trying for some time..over a year but they look nice...

was just thinking of trading some tropheus kaisers for some but never mind i guess i was sleeping when i made that thought..lol

ANY thing worth breeding takes time and patience... and Zaires bring monetary rewards and a great feeling of accomplishment... your cousins zaires may not be totally mature yet.. they take years.. and also it depends on other factors.. tank mates...type of water...size of tank... the zaires are being bred all the time..they are just more difficult then the others .. they require everything to be correct..

ok...so i should probably just read this whole thread...but if someone could jsut give me some pointers on frontosa, that would be great....i'm starting a mixed african tank, with some peacocks and calvus and d. and a. compressiceps...how do you think all these fish will match...or not match?...and all those fish are under 2 inches, and the peacocks are just fry....thanks

frontosa do not mix well... they also should have a colony.... then you could add a few electric yellow labs etc simply because they are laid back and non aggressive and add color.... but a mix like you mentioned i would omit the frontosa... also fronts take a long time to grow...but do grow to 16 inches...

Thank you Cichlidgirl for sharing your stunning beautiful fronts with us... the blue is awesome.... they have all really grown.....

Your welcome Liz, you dont need to thank me since i like to post pics LOL. Your right they have grown nicely, but noticed they do tend to grow slightly slower than my burundi did, not sure why...
