Your welcome Liz, you dont need to thank me since i like to post pics LOL. Your right they have grown nicely, but noticed they do tend to grow slightly slower than my burundi did, not sure why...
i think the females grow slower... males really leap ahead in spurts...

I must have a bunch of mpimbwe females then. Wouldnt that be great LOL.

that would be the ultimate.. i have almost all males...

If i do end up with mostly females maybe i can trade one for one of your males LOL Make a road trip.

The only thing i dont like about my mpimbwe is 3 of them seem to have a jaw deformity. Not sure if it was genetic (dont remember seeing any fry with it) or if its just injury. It is just the mpimbwe . Looks odd. I will get a photo and post it . Here it is , has anybody had this happen to their fish. Of the 11 mpimbwe 3 have it, none of the burundi have it ??? As you can see it looks like a dislocated jaw, it also makes the face appear "long" with no graceful curve to the lips. They just appeared one day like that, never saw any fighting but who knows what they are doing in the dark when im not watching.

sometimes that happens with very close breeding... that reason i buy two here and two there... just to try not get siblings... but they look great and yes we may be trading...lol

Thats what i figured , thats why i dont plan on doing any breeding with them because i would have to get more fish to cross with them... I just like looking at them.

thats how i feel too, if it happens ... great..but i won't go out of my way for it...they still have years of growing.. so you can always decide down the road.... and still have plenty of time.. they do grow to `15 or 16 inches.. so they have a while to go..

Very nice looking frontosa. I have Mobas, Burundis, and Mpimbwes. My WC Mpimbwes are my favorites. They are more active and not as shy as the others. I just purchased them and already have 3 females carrying. I stripped one female last night and got 60 eggs off of her. I think I stripped the eggs to early though, so they probably won't do well.
