Im am trying to see what all steps need to be taken to successfully convert my talk to salt... would like to do a reef set up

tank-110
filter-fx5
play sand is still in the tank just a lil

now i need to know whats all needed i have a 29 gallon that i will be using for a sump and i have an overflow box as well..

would it be ok to leave the play sand in and add live sand on top or should the play sand come out.

im am starting this process today and would like to know where to start with getting all the necessary equipment!!

thats cool, im in columbus. Basics would be live rock, skimmer, refractometer or hydrometer, and salt. As far as the equipment goes, you'll get what u pay for. Better in the long run to spend a little extra and it work properly.

the most necessary equipment is your heater, powerheads, protein skimmer, refractometer and a good test kit

can you explain y... would it be a bad thing if i were to just cover it with live sand...its not a lot of play sand just enough to cover the bottom
