I took some of the babies to another tank and I guess in the process I moved some things around in the tank by mistake.

Now the mother wont go near the babies and the father is watching them. Is this normal? Should I take the rest out now?

the mother should go back to them i move thing around in my tank all the time and she always goes back and moves the babys to a new spot. i also took my male out and left the female in with the babies cause it is a good idea to keep one parent with the little one so that u are sure they get feed. the parent will collect food in there mouth and put it near the babies

update:My male kicked the crap out of my female that's why she was hiding not because she didnt recognize the fry. So I removed the fry and made some more hiding placed for her and things seemed to have calmed down a bit. Fry are getting bigger and doing well.

someone asked why the convict had black spots all over it. I believe that is a marbled convict. Im not 100% sure but I think that is what it is. If you get babies that look like that try to pull htem a side and grow them out. you wont make much offthem but you should be able to sell them for a little more than a normal convict
