id go with a comunity of FMs, i dont like to see individual specimens, id get bored in a room w/ a bunch of plants and no one around to talk to for my whole life.

For cyring out loud, you're a human and you won't be in the tank. A fish is a fish and they don't talk or have enough brain capacity to get bored. As long as they have sufficient room to swim around, have a healthy diet and clean water, they're fine and dandy. There's absolutely nothing to feel guilty about having a single specimen tank.

I would like more than one fish in the tank, what would be some hardy plants, right now I have some cabomba and some java moss filtration is also 1 wisper 60 filter and 1 aquaclear 50, both power filters.

look at some T. ellioti, sajica, cutteri, HRP or even some geos

really you have lots of options just make sure they whatever you get does not get over 8" or so.

convict, jack dempsey, firemouth and a pictus cat great combo works well with alot of people in the past.you can always take one out if it doesnt work.

SALVINIS they may beat up your other fish but there color full have personality and don't harm plants most other cichlids the big ones especially like to rip up or eat plants

O.K. i think I am going to go with the Convict, firemouth and jack depsey combo and maby a pleco (the big black ones the petstores usually sell) what would you suggest for decorations? im pretty sure that these fish will rip out my plants.

Stack up some rocks, but not too many so the fish have room to swim. Make some caves for the FM, since it will probably end up as the low man on the totem pole. (and thats apparently a silly expression, because important people got put near the bottom)
