Coolest fish for a 10 gallon

Plants, make sure there are plenty of plants. They will keep your tank happier even if there are more fish. It is always tough with small tanks like that.

It might sound odd, but you could keep Triops in that tank. Little shrimp-like creatures.

You could also easily add Ghost shrimp. They are little, friendly, and fun to watch. Not super impressive though.

I'd also recommend a Nerite snail for algae control.

crayfish are cool. i had one and i loved it. but there is a chance it could eat your tetras.

you might be able to fit a jewel cichlid or two in a 10 gal but im not too sure. they might also eat your tetras

ya man go with crayfish they are awesome. you also might be able to fit a couple of jewel cichlids in a 10 gal but not exactly sure. i used to have a jewel cichlid and a crayfish, they both liked to eat goldfish, i usually fed them flake food

No. A 10 gallon is too small for 1 ram,let alone 2.

would 1 ram really bother my fish though? how aggresive are they, i really don't have any caves avaliable for them to hide in but i have a lot of plant cover

The tank is too small. You need a bigger tank than a 10 for rams.

Ooh perhaps a pair of Exodons? It depends though you will have to get rid of the tetra as they are like mini piranha's

i'm probably going to go with the ram idea they're pretty beautiful fish and maybe add a couple barbs i'll play around and let you know how everything goes thank you for the suggestions if you have any more please keep them coming

Don't put a ram in a 10 gallon. It is a cichlid and they like to swim. I can't say it enough,don't put a ram in a 10 gallon tank. The people who suggested it have no idea what they are talking about. They only live for a couple of years anyway,and if you try to put one in a 10, it will probably live for 6 months. They need a 20 long for the minimum tank size.

Either get a 20gal n get mantis shrimp or get inverts like a planted tank with shrimp or a crayfish tank or fiddler crab ram tank

however, you do need more than a pair, and a 10g is insufficient.
