No. A 10 gallon is too small for 1 ram,let alone 2.

The tank is too small. You need a bigger tank than a 10 for rams.

Don't put a ram in a 10 gallon. It is a cichlid and they like to swim. I can't say it enough, don't put a ram in a 10 gallon tank. The people who suggested it have no idea what they are talking about. They only live for a couple of years anyway, and if you try to put one in a 10, it will probably live for 6 months. They need a 20 long for the minimum tank size.

i'm not trying to call you out but you had no problem calling several members out on their suggestions so i guess i'm just returning the favor. let's fact check here. Why does a fish that maxes out at 2.5 inch need more then 10 gallons? Are we talking about the same fish here? The most popular ram that most lfs are going to carry are ballon rams anyways.

I wasn't going to say anything cause
my wife knows more about Dithers than I do
but ah yeah rams are small
I'd put 3 or 4 in a 10 if I were into that sort of thing

Thank you. i was saying the same thing, rams are small, why do you need giant tanks for such if you dont have it and your look for something small. i dont get why people have to exagerate tank sizes. i mean if fish need so much space, why do we even have 10g tanks. they are useless then.

This thread has some bad suggestions, this one may be the worst. You need a 30 gallon minimum for exodons, and you need at least 15 of them.

why exagerate tank sizes for small fish that much :irked:
why do we even have 10 gallons then. lets keep goldfish in 45g tanks then, and keep the 10g's for water aging.
i totally do not agree with this one.

RAMS THAT ARE FINE IN A 10GAL:

If you have a compatible pair of Rams a 10 gallon may be fine...if they're not compatible then you're down to 1 in a hurry and I've never seen a solitary ram last very long. They don't really express their true behaviour until you have at least 6 and I've found that each pair seems to stake out an area of approximately 1 sq./ft. On the plus side they're not aggresive to most other species. The only problems I've had is keeping otto's with breeding pairs, the otto's seem to dumb to move away from the eggs and just take a beating. One other thing, I've never had a ram yet that's actually used a cave even though you keep reading about providing them. I've kept well over 50 and the only time I've ever found one in a cave was when it was at death's door.

oh man so much conflict haha well i mean there is really only 1 way to test it out, get the fish and see how it acts :P if i were to get a ram i'm guessing a pair would be the way to go? but again like stated above it is only a 10 gallon so I feel like the pair would fight....=\
