How????You could do tropical for the eastern newts, that would give you more fish variety. I kept mine in a tropical tank, though my water wasn’t any warmer than 82 degrees.
This was a while ago, saw a newt at the petstore, bought it and a floating log and added him to my tank he was happy liked to explore out of his tank. He climbed out through the filter so many times we had to get a tighter lid, found him dusty under my couch once, 10ft away from the tank plus the stand height(2ft).How????

What do you mean their not legal???Amphibians are cool. Would definitely keep some in a paludarium if they were legal.
All exotic amphibians are illegal in South Africa, we have a massive biodiversity of frogs and the authorities are taking no chances with Chytrid fungus.What do you mean their not legal???
