Just had a question because i recently cut my arowana fins because they didnt look so good. I was wondering if anyone tried doing this and could show me some before and after pics?

Ive seen alot of asian fish keepers do this. I think its solely for looks.

some also do it to remove infected fins because they grow back

Its for the fish, sometimes you do not have clean fins on the fish they might have been bite by other fish and grows back uneven so people cut them to even them up so it would look clean.

i did this for one of my piranha's, his fin grew with a bent tip after he was nipped. so i cut the bent part off and it grew back even.

yea cut it if its real bad

If you are going to do this, use a very sharp instrument. You don't want to tear the fin with something you think is sharp. If possible use a razor blade or scalpel.

i hope the fish dont feel any pain ,, if they do then i am quite shocked ,, there is a post in another thread about a guy that keeps a arowana that has a bend in its back , hat off to him for not cutting his arowana up and trying to give it a good life ,
