Pack your tank with cheapo goldfish, or get some existing bio media to dump in there. Do lots of water changes too to practice for what you have in store..

If you can't answer how many tanks you have,and how long you have kept fish,I would guess you only have the 1 uncycled tank,and 0 experience with fish.
Planning on upgrading to a larger tank later on is never a good idea.Buy fish that will fit in the tank you have.In a 125 there are lots of possibilities.
When you start asking questions about cycling,and you think that 10,2'' and 3'' fish is enough to cycle a 125,your inexperience is showing.
Don't be so hard on the people that are trying to help you from their experience with keeping fish.

Your tank will cycle in 4-5 weeks to the fish you have in the tank. If you add alot more bioload at that time your tank would go into a mini cycle to adjust.
if you go back to your old thread.... the first one you started ever on mfk, you will see that I originally told you that the 55 gallon you wanted to stock with a ray was a bad idea. you will also see that at one point you had enough humility to listen to reason and experience of others
Back to the original question. No I don't think your tank has spiked yet you have a rather low bio load to cycle that tank. This has been established but its important.
Cycling from a bare tank with no filter seeding takes longer than a month for me I don't know about others.
A few things to remember the BB loves oxygenated warm water 80-85 degrees so if you can turn up the heat a bit and add some air stones unless youve already done so or have plenty of oxygenation.
Another important thing is to test your tap water if you have not done so. It will give you a baseline to compare against.
Also there are some good stickies here that id recommend looking into that will walk you through the whole process.

I will thank you. I'm in no rush. I still have 5 weeks till the tank is cycled. That doesn't mean I'll be just throwing a stingray in. I am a huge animal person and will do everything possible to make sure everything is done right. If I do not fill confident I won't do it yet. I am not going to get an animal just to see if I can do it.
I may not have as much experience with keeping large fish in large tanks as some people here,but I have enough experience to know how to cycle a tank,and to know that when you are brand new to the hobby,like the OP is,suggesting keeping fish that will outgrow the tank you have is a bad idea.Bderick67;3507381; said:
