Dark Side Progression...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm reading/researching how to keep copepods, or built a colony of copepods in my tank within the rocks and then getting a Mandarin Goby, this fish is 1 of the fish I always wanted to keep but I didn't get them in many years due to the lack of right environment to keep them happy and alive in captive.

Yes Mandarin, and Scooter Blenny would not live long without a steady supply of Coepods but now you can actually purchase them now.

So we're knew my Anemone is sebae anemone and it's just a general name of that type of anemone, what's it scientific name? I did more reading and more research and I think I'm confident that my Anemone is a Sebae Anemone (Heteractis Malu), it has variety of color range from tan, purple and white (NOT snow white) some RARE that in green color. I went back to the LFS to double check the name tag and it's still on the tank named "Hawaiian Sebae Anemone" (The staff admitted he gave me a wrong name, he told me it was a BTA). He told me if I want I can bring it back and exchange for a right one but I decided to keep it (bring it back to the shop = I'm giving it a death penalty). I'm not say It won't die in my tank but at least if It gonna die it will die in much better place :P Now, what color that my Sabae turn out when it's recover it original color? Only time can tell hehehe might be in few weeks, sometime few months or never recovery...Nobody know! :P

I went around all the LFS that focus selling saltwater in search for a Rose Bubble Tip Anemone (RBTA) and found a baby one in 1 of the shop and asked about trading my zebra for that one tiny one, of course they won't do an equal trade LOL so after few minutes chit chat they agreed to let it go if I give them extra 10 bucks and closed the deal for the day (oh, this one look healthy and not bleached yet, its still in it normal color) :p
The price tag for this little one quite expensive $50 but I think it's worth since I went to 5 LFS and none of them has 1 for sell. I'm acclimating it now then I'll take a picture, so far the Sebae still look healthy and still stay at same spot, I'm still learning its feeding schedule, I'm try to feed it but its refused to eat, the mouth shut tied lol the feedback from other folks are mixed, some feed 2 times a week, some 3 times a week and some 1 time a week, as long it's not starving then I'm good on my part hehehe.

Here is the tiny RBTA, its still attaching its pedal to the rock. In next few days its might move around to find the perfect spot, it's tiny so I have to keep a close eyes to it since It can be suck into powerhead and got chop off into pieces.

Look how tiny it is LOL around 1.5 inch diameter.
I turned on all my pumps and power head, it doesn't get blow away from its spot yet, seem like it foot (pedal) is darn good, sticky and healthy.

As I expected the little bubble moved to new location after light out, its moved vertical down a rock right below, now I'm amazed how these thing move cause they are moved to some area that I couldn't believe they did that on its own lol

DUMB CLOWN FISH All I can say, what's the problem?
So I got a bleached Sebae (Heteractis malu) and a pair of Percular Clown fish, the symbiosis between them so darn nice to watch but here is the problem: the Sebae is bleached so its pretty much lose a lot of its stickiness on it tentacles and won't hold the food strong enough, every time I feed the Sabae the dumb clown fishs always full the piece of shrimp out of the Sabae mouth...what the heck right?
I saw video of clown fishs feeding the Anemone, and documentary that clown fishs carry food back to the Anemone and feed them but that miracle DID NOT apply to my captive breed clown fishs they are just stupid annoying and stressing out the Sabae more than helping it. After I removed those clown fishs, my Sabea ate its food in a peaceful mode! I'm gonna remove those clown fishes and wait until the Sabae recover then I'll add them back to the tank. The RBTA is doing great and growing well, I can see much improvement compare when it was in the LFS tank.
