dart frogs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Do not mix the different types of frogs.

There is many many different morphs of auratus and many different morphs of tinctorius. NOne of the different morphs should be mixed with.

Keep on reading. If you have only been reading for two months you have not even come close to scratching the surface. Keep on reading. I still learn stuff all the time.

Any specific questions you have, fire away I am happy to help :-)

i only read for a month before i got mine, and they are thriving. i would reccomend this book:

reptile expos have dart frogs for about 50$ each.

Dart frogs range greatly in prices. Depends alot on what you want.

Some can be as little as $20-$25 and go as high as $400-$500 each.

Dont rush into it. Take your time making the tank. Skip the water features( they serve no real purpose)

personally, i think the water features tie the whole thing together. we are planning on getting a bigger tanks with a large pond in the middle with some little fishies!

You do realize that dart frogs can not swim and drown very easily?

But we all have our opinions.

For a first time tank IMHO would skip the water feature. Out of all my tanks 2 had water features. Now none have water features. So much simplier.

Dart frogs will also fight and use the water the drown each other.

So are you saying that you shouldn't even mix two different color morphs of the same species?

i had 2 galactonotus and 2 tinctorius for about a year before my grandma accidentally let them out while i was on vacation. culture your own flies and get a mister. they are very very fun to keep and gorgeous. had mine in a glass tank that looked like a small greenhouse with bromeliads in it and used it as decor. everyone loved em good luck

thanks for all the info everybody. i will keep reading into them and take all of your points into consideration.
