u can do a water change as long as u reolace the amount of salt. ex. 20 gal. 3tbsp per 5 gal so that is 12 tbsp. if ur doig a 25% wc, than u replace 25% of the salt in the 20 gal which is 3 tbsp.

HE GOT IT AFTER I DID A 20% WATER CHANGE SO I WAS THINKING MAYBE THAT WAS THE REASON i need to get more cover for him there inst alot of light in the tank what are somethings i can do to make him feel more comfortable and recover faster??

Clean water, salt, heat and time and he'll be fine.

i read somewhere that every fish is prone to ick when stressed. maybe it got stressed when u did a water change. try to fill new water in slowly nxt time. and just follow the method since it worked for me.
i had a worse problem before since each time i get a new fish, it had ick. trust me the method works

as long as it doesnt contain iodide and any other components. ive used sea salt and just ordinary rock salt.
