Dude Abysmal Dawn and Necrophagist both are under rated, the singer/guitarist for necro should get a friggin award for the most talented german baddazz ever! Watch some of their live stuff on youtube its nuts.

Oh yea. I love necrophagist, Mohammed is very talented for sure. I've seen them live twice real close. I love their guitar riffs but believe it or not... I wish they would cut down the soloing. Its too repetitive and flat out unnecessary in most songs.

Ehhhhhh. I say that bc I'm getting old, and hate this crap that America is putting out. Too whiney. Alot of those bands listed are metalcoreish. Which I loath.

When I think of prog, I think of Symphony X, Dream Theater, Ayreon, Devin Townsend, Andromeda, etc.

None of them even have clean vocals besides PTH. How are they whiney? Ha. I can understand where you're coming from about DT and Symphony X being true prog, but these bands definately have progressive elements. (Off-beat accents, crazy time signatures, sporaticness, etc.)
