Death of a Fish Room!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If it makes you feel any better I've done a great deal of downsizing over the past handful of months too. I must say I'm enjoying the easier overall maintenance of having less tanks. I actually get to take days off now.

it should be a hobby not a job, downsizing will help you enjoy the HOBBY

time to find a new wife lol my g/f is kinda that way about fish but i tell her you know where the door is, but i got a trick lol i set up a tank just 4 her to put what she want in thier and it seem to be working 3 $40 clown loaches later i get away with pretty much anything lol

Lol i know where you are comming from, same thing with my misses :P, sorry to hear about you tank loss dude :( some one loves his misses tho :D

I have sold 6 tanks so far. I might be done or I may sell the last 2 55 gallon tanks. That will leave me with 2 125s left.

I have to say I'm in the opposite side here, my hubby is the one telling me to slow down. I love fish and all furry things, and have a ton of both. We recently set up our 30 gal and that was the point where I felt overwhelmed. So I'm sure that having less tanks has lightened the load on your shoulders, and like 'reverse' said, you'll feel it more of a hobby, than a job. I guess where I stand, he (hubby) can have what he wants (more guitars, effects kits, new motorcycle) as long as I can keep having what I want, (a dog would be nice, one more lizard, a black ghost knife would be nice). :)

We just finished talking about a 300 gallon tank and she is fully on board. The decision on which tank and which vendor is totally in my court now.

IME, when both of you have a space-consuming hobby, the compromising gets easier. If my husband gets on my case about fish, I just point at his pile of guitars, amps, and pedals. If he collected thimbles, I'd have less bargaining power. :grinno:

thats a bummer :(

i have done something similar myself, sold my huge stack system an now in the process of looking for a single large tank, i had 11tanks running at one point

Did you ever end up getting the larger tank?
