BTW i changed up the setup of my hundred gallon fishmamma ill post up some pics

depends on the fish you keep IMO, us cichlid guys need decor. It breaks up the line of sight and provides refuge for those not wanting to play "whos tougher" ATM. Very important for breeding pairs as well. ;)

both, cichlids need it, and I like to pretend I made it just like their home :)

^^ What are you going to keep in there?? and how will you utilize those decorations?? Only because there doens't seem to be many hiding places, unless you are going to keep really small fish.

Calvus and other tangs.
I just started on this one, literally last week. And what you can't see is, under the base of that driftwood is a cave system. I'll try to get some pics with the DSLR tonight.

I will be adding more rocks soon(they are soaking now), and then some tall grassy plants along the back wall.

That sounds interesting, for sure share some pictures of the cave system. Sounds like you've got your plan down tight!! :)

Both.
I hate PVC too, but it's a necessary evil in my set up. I have a lot of base rock and a nice piece of driftwood, but my male keeps the females off the bottom 2/3 of the tank, so suspended PVC breaks the line of sight and provides shelter for them when they aren't "in the mood".

I don't think I missed this, but it's possible with me...:D

What kind of fish are you talking about? and what do you mean by suspended PVC? Post a pic if you can...

I have WC Tropheus Ikola and some F1 fry in this tank. I have siliconed a bunch of PVC together and hung it from the top of the tank. I have a PVC spray bar for my sump return and I basically just put one of the legs of it thru the PVC so it stays at the top of the tank (see pics). Normally my holding females will claim a spot in it, but when I got up to take the pic they all went to the front of the tank to beg for food. It really looks awful, but works great.
