I have WC Tropheus Ikola and some F1 fry in this tank. I have siliconed a bunch of PVC together and hung it from the top of the tank. I have a PVC spray bar for my sump return and I basically just put one of the legs of it thru the PVC so it stays at the top of the tank (see pics). Normally my holding females will claim a spot in it, but when I got up to take the pic they all went to the front of the tank to beg for food. It really looks awful, but works great.

Beautiful fish Will (I hope that's your name).. and yours is definitely more purpose.. and no, it's doesn't look horrible.. it's really functional for what you have going on...

I know there is a spray paint that you can use in aquariums, don't remember the name.. another member just told me about it the other day.. so just for kicks you could spray paint the pvc..and blackout the back and all the 'functionality' wouldn't be so noticable.. not that I'm suggesting you change yours at all.. just for other readers and ideas...

Thanks for sharing, I really like the suspended PVC idea!!

Definitely both... although i definitely try and stick with the as natural as possible look...

So no PVC pipes or anything like that... not that there is anything wrong with them, but if i did, i'd definitely try and find a way to coat or cover it to make it blend in with the rest of the tank and not stand out like a sore thumb...

Anyway, pics of my 200G tank

Hey Fat Homer!! Nice setup.. the driftwood I'm sure has much purpose, but like myself .. try to stick to the more natural look.. 'try' ..

What's hiding out in there??

I do both but PVC is whats going in my 55Gal I'm setting up along with some homemade slate decor. But I'm painting the PVC a slate gray with Krylon Fusion so it will blend in somewhat. I know the perfect circles will may that noticeable but maybe I'll silicone some excess slate to the PVC pieces to give the PVC character.....

Yeah that's the name of it 'Krylon Fusion' I'm axious to try it on something..
Adding texture to the PVC will definitely make it look better.. that's the only way I would use it .. usless it was an emergency type situation.. still not hatin on PVC.. it's just so perfect and white.. although I'm almost sure black and other colors are sold as well.. :)

Both for me also(i like the way it looks and the wood breaks the line of sight.)

Yes, really nice!! definitely both.. love the lighting as well.

Like the sig too...

fishmamma they have black and orange PVC but it costs more, I checked haha. And for clown loaches it's perfect with ins and outs. I'll make sure I put up a pick of the tank and take pics of the PVC I do so you can see the look. I just don't have time to go travel the river and detoxify driftwood. Not until I build a big time will I make sure I have time.

Thanks for the comment, as for whats in the tank, obviously the fahaka puffer you see in the pic, but also a albino pleco and a yellow lab who use the cover to hide... although the yellow lab seems to be best friends with my fahaka... most probably coz she's such a messy eater...
