I've heard the dual stage triggers are nice! What's different about it? I have never shot an AR with a dual stage trigger.

They are REALLY nice. I don't know how to explain it though. It separates the pounds of trigger pull in half and makes them into 2 "stages". So instead of lets say a single 4 lb. trigger pull, you have 2, 2 lb. ones. That helps you eliminate "creep" which is hard, jerking trigger pulls and gives you a more accurate, smooth shot.

That's interesting. i'll definitely have to look into it after I finish the rest of the rifle. thanks for the info!

Nice build. After I get down with my AK collection I need to score a lower or two. My first AR was built off an Essential Arms lower!

What kind of upper are you getting?

My upper is also coming from Essential. They seem to make a very nice part! Do you like your AR that's built off of the Essential's lower?

cant see your pics since its blocked at work, but it sounds nice! a 2-stage trigger is the best upgrade you can get IMO. well worth it. i got the CMMG 2 stage on mine and i love it (spikes tacitcal lower / CMMG upper)

EE had shody products when they used cast parts. Now they are forged and much better. Mine was one of their first forged receivers, complete with M4 feed ramps. The lower was no better or worse then any other in its price range I guess. I have no experience with their uppers.

My upper was a CMMG and it was NICE! It was milspec M4 through out. 14.5" barrel, 1:7 twist, chrome lined and all. I sold that gun though to buy a boat....STUPID!

I paid less then $700 for it and I bet I couldnt touch it for less then $1k now!

I am hoping that for my daughters third birthday (a year from this V-day) the hype will be down and I can get us two custom serialized lowers that we can build up together when she gets older. Who knows what the laws will be like that by then! Her mom better not complain her baby got an AR for her 3rd bday!

That sounds awesome! After I finish mine it will have cost me about $1100 for just the rifle. then I want to add a nice scope and other accessories to it. It should be a good time! :naughty:

What kind of upper? I know you said its an EA and an A3/A4 (flat top) but what barrel length, gas system, etc?

If I wasnt on this AK kick that I am on right now Id be building another AR!

Heck, Ive bought three AKs since the election!

I think I'm going to go with a 16", chrome lined, fluted, 1:7 twist barrel.
