i think a 220 wuld be good and LFS does mean local fish store

IMO , i wouldnt get anything else until you have got a larger tank aleast 300+ Gals very shortly as your fish will get very big very fast , but then saying that the RTC' and Shovlenose Cat' would really need a 1000+ Gal tank/ pond when fully grown both getting over 4Foot in length and would probily eat you Oscars .

Your Awo' depending on what type it is , i am geussing a Silver . Most do need a tank aleast 3Foot wide to move around best when is fully grown . A Silver Awo' grown about 2.5 - 3Foot in Lenght .

So i would really think about getting a larger tank very fast first before adding any other fish to your stock . Or just getting rid of them all and thnking about something alot smaller to keep .

i thought they would be fine when i get the 125 i was gonna start putting away for a 220 or a 300. 300g is the biggest they sell at my local store.

I mean you guys know more than i do but i thought if i raised them and eventually had a 300 i would even be able to have another fish?

And just curious is see LFS alot does that mean local fish store?

stop buying fish and place the money in your account and just save for a 220 gal. skip or by-pass the 125.

I know my intentions were always to get a 300+ gallon i am not fully new to the hobby just not at knowledgable as most of the users on this forum. I didnt think i was going to need the 300 gallon for atleast a year or 2.

But im prob wrong. My friend has a 125g that he currently has piranhas in and he was going to give that to me for 300 gravel plants filter hood lighting air pumps and all his medicines and everything. Do you think i should do this?

Considering after i set that up what whn i was going to start saving for the300

dump the rtc and arrow and the 125 would last you good long time. If not, just start crusing craigslist for a used monster. They pop up srom time to time. Your tank is already over stocked, to a water test and it will tell you so.

You serious? A 300? I take it you never really researched these fish much?

You need 470g minimum for the aro, 2000g+ for the RTC, and those are both depending on the specific dimensions of the aquarium in question.

yea go for the 300 instead

my bad black shark if i offended you no reason to try to make me look bad. b ut thats the biggest my lfs sells so thats what my intentions were till i moved out and got a backyard to throw a pond or something in

Not trying to make you look bad, ;)

A good friend once said,

"Buy the tank- then the fish"

:)

Honestly...if you can get the 125 for $300 that's not bad. I would go with the JD. Also consider trading in your RTC for something a bit more manageable, maybe a lima shovelnose. You could keep an adult silver aro in a 300G, but even that will be too small for an adult RTC.
