I know my intentions were always to get a 300+ gallon...

I've had "the intension" to get a 300 gallon tank for the last 10 years... but despite my best of intensions other responosibilities in life have prevented me from doing so.

You meantioned "if I move out" so is it safe to assume you live with your parents? There is nothing wrong with that provided you are 35 married and have kids :P

But keep in mind moving out of mom and dad's house is going to become an increasingly important priority in life in the upcoming years and you may not be able to afford the 300+ gal tank that you are currently daydreaming about... but your fish will still need it...

In all reality, we all want bigger tanks... we all hope to have more/bigger tanks in the near future... but those of us that are responsible with our hobby get the tank, then the fish... Or at least we ensure we have a stable income that will facilitate such things when the need arises...

I mean... you have a fish that in 3 years will have a larger body volume than the tank it is currently in... In 6 months or less your tank is going to start suffering from improper stocking...

Do the right thing and stop where you are... and think realistically as to what upgrades you are really going to make...

Well put . :D

yeh that was well put. but im not 35 with kids lolol

Your absolutley right i agree fully so im going to consider what im doing. Im def not going to add any more fish bc i know it will stress out the tank the only thing i thought was it was gonna take longer for them to get that big i did not know the full growth rate of the aros.

So right now im goinng to reconsider my tank options and what not. It seems like the catfish is the most important thing to consider rather than the aro but thankyou for the advice and ill let everyone know what happens.

IMHO if you get a 300 you can ditch the RTC and get a Jack Dempsey. Jags would tear up all the fish you specified.
