Daily water changes, keeping him as comfortable as possible, feeding him medicated soft food so that it doesn't bother him when he grabs it, treating the water also with antibiotics and salt, and hoping for the best. Paying a lot of attention to him seems to keep him entertained and happy. Removed his toys so that he can relax a bit more. Still trying to get him to let me pet him, but we will work on that when he recovers.
This happened to my beanii, I thought it was from lip locking, but the male died very quickly, then after a few days (without the male) the female presented the same symptoms. The female died a few days later. As Modest man stated, I also had an egg crate divider and it could be the case.
It seems to be a bit like tetanus in humans, if so it could be a virus (which meds probably would have no effect on).
